What is the FreeFall?

Playground Surface Testing

The FreeFall drop test was designed to test the impact attenuation of a playground surface. Impact attenuation refers to how well a surface absorbs the shock from a fall to the surface. This includes gauging the Head Impact Criteria (HIC) and the G-Max or G-Force created when an object, or child, hits the surface.

Why use the FreeFall?

It's Portable.

The FreeFall is a handheld unit that an owner can use anywhere. It does not require any cords, outlets or tripods for use in the field. The dimensions of the unit are 8” x 10” and the indestructible case is 16” x 18”. The unit itself weighs 4.6 kg (10.14 lbs).

It's Easy to use.

First, the FreeFall provides a simple pass/fail indicator light. Second, the FreeFall records the data from the drop for future download to your laptop or PC in text and graph form.

It's Affordable.

Utilizing the latest innovations, our team of engineers have designed the FreeFall to be affordable and available for every playground owner in the world. Please contact us for the price of a new unit or to lease a unit.
